This page is specificly for the position of Jail Control Room Operator.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office Jail Division invites applications for the position of Control Room Operator. Our Control Room Operators serve as an integral part of the correctional team working together with Correctional Officers in the jail central control room. No prior experience is required to be a Control Room Operator; all training is provided.

 

Examples of Duties Include:

Operate electronic surveillance equipment to maintain security and control of inmate and staff movement and interaction throughout the Jail. Positively identify all persons entering and leaving public areas and housing units and tracks intended destination. Monitor and direct response for all security, life safety, and communications systems including telephone and radios. Assist the public over the phone and in person with questions and concerns. Confirm warrants. Set up and log video visitations. Enter data into daily jail logs. Prepare and complete reports. Monitor all housing, program, and staging areas. Monitor and document inmate behaviors to facilitate on-going inmate classification. Monitor recreation and exercise area use.

The Morgan County Jail is a 24 hrs a day, 7 day a week operation.  All applicants must be able to work any shift and any day of the week, including weekend and holidays.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, must be able to pass an initial drug screen as well as random drug screens and must be able to pass training tests.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

1. Must be a United States Citizen
2. Must be at least 18 years old
3. Must possess a valid drivers license
4. Must pass a background check
6. Must pass a written exam
7. Must be a have a high school diploma or GED

8. Must pass a drug screen​
